I’m impressed with the carefully considered arguments which Jeremy Brookman (as a pro-Independence supporter) has presented, many of which are no doubt couched in realism. But it’s hard to avoid the overall impression that these arguments come from a stance which is either pro-Monarchist or at least, tolerant of that historical institution. Back in the 16c Wales did not vote to become part of England: it was simply annexed following centuries of colonisation and bloodshed, hence the now-ingrained noun ‘England and Wales’, reinforced of course by Wales being within the English cross on the Union Flag. Dominance from England is always underwritten by reference to Monarchy, therefore I share the views of Martin Jones. By the way, many in Scotland share such views, and I read recently that Brian Cox the actor believes in the UK being replaced by a Federation of Nations.
Say Yes today and take the pledge to vote "Yes" in a referendum on Welsh independence. Every signature takes us one step nearer to our goal of an independent Wales.
