Thus, it can be ‘reclaimed’, and used to spin arguments for Unionism on their head. “I’m proud to be Scottish/Welsh and British” sorts can have it pointed out to them that this will remain the case beyond the existence of a British State.

David Smith commented on Why an independent Wales should continue with a British Monarch 2023-11-13 22:50:43 +0000I personally abhor the very concept of monarchy and believe it is nothing but an anachronism. That being said, I’m willing to be pragmatic on the issue and take the hit of retaining a Windsor as a ceremonial HOS if it means securing our independence.
