YesCymru groups and members will be very busy over the summer with a YesCymru presence at some of Wales’ largest events.
A few weeks after the March in Carmarthen, Yes Cymru will host a stage in the Tafwyl festival in the capital for the first time.
The stage will give an opportunity to artists who support YesCymru to perform in Cardiff and the YesCymru stall will be selling merchandise, discussing independence and welcoming new members.
In preparation for the festival, Phyl Griffiths, Chair of YesCymru is keen to include local members in the fun. “We are really looking forward to officially taking part in Tafwyl for the first time. Of course, knowing how keen YesCymru members are to contribute at events like this, we will welcome time and input from anyone who is a YesCymru member to help us out over the weekend, saidPhyl.
If you have an hour or two to spare and are willing to volunteer over the weekend of Tafwy, which runs from the 12th to the 14th of July, contact [email protected]
Following Tafwyl the focus will turn to Cwm Taf and Pontypridd for the National Eisteddfod. YesCymru are expanding on the maes this year with a bigger stand than was seen last year in Boduan. And once again, YesCymru are looking for volunteers to take advantage of the opportunity to promote the movement on the maes, by offering free day tickets for those who work on the stall.
“YesCymru’s membership in the Valleys is very strong and we have a history of being extremely hard-working,” said Rob Hughes, Director for the South-East. “We like to thinkof ourselves as welcoming people, so here’s the chance to put that to work. YesCymru are offering a free day ticket to members who volunteer and work a shift on the stall, that’s our way of saying thanks to our members for being ready to turn out every time,” he added.
