March for Independence - RHYL

We’re looking forward to welcoming everyone to the March for Independence in Rhyl on Saturday 18 October 2025.

As always, it will be a family-friendly day full of positivity, colour, and hope. Don’t forget your flags, banners, placards, posters and whistles!

MARCH ROUTE / MAP

Rhyl Events Arena > High Street > Market Street > Queen Street > Sussex Street > Water Street > Promenade > Rhyl Events Arena.

  • The route will be closed to traffic for the duration of the march.
  • It follows main roads with no kerbs and is fully accessible for wheelchairs and pushchairs.
  • Short pauses are planned along the way so everyone can stay together.
  • Please wear comfortable shoes and check the weather forecast before setting off – rain or shine, we’ll be marching!
  • Bring plenty of water and anything else you might need on the day.

INDY WALES RALLY - Following the March

After the march, a rally will be held at Rhyl Events Arena. There will be a large stage and screen, speeches, and live music.

INDY MARKET

We’ll be holding an Indy Market once again, this time at Rhyl Events Arena, from 10am to 4pm.

Arrive early to explore the stalls and pick up some independence-themed merchandise!

GETTING TO RHYL

We encourage everyone to arrive in Rhyl by 11am-12pm if possible, and to use public transport where available.

TRAINS

Rhyl railway station is less than a 10-minute walk (around 500 metres) from Rhyl Events Arena. Rhyl is very accessible by train, with services typically running every 30 minutes.

No planned works are currently scheduled, but check traveline.cymru and Transport for Wales for up-to-date info.

Council Car Parks
  • Central Car Park – Underground, 469 spaces, 18 disabled. LL18 1HD. Locked at 9pm. (Under the bridge next to the Arena)

  • East Parade Car Park – Beach car park (no data on spaces). LL18 3SG. Open 24 hours. (Behind Travelodge, from direction of Arena)

  • Rhyl Town Hall Car Park – Short stay (no data on spaces). LL18 1SW. Open 24 hours.

  • Morley Road Car Park – Short stay, 227 spaces, 11 disabled. LL18 3HG. Open 24 hours. (Next to railway)

  • Sky Tower Car Park – Beach car park, 158 spaces, 6 disabled. LL18 1HF. Open 24 hours.

  • Rhyl Railway Station Car Park – 38 spaces, 4 disabled. LL18 1BU. Open 24 hours.

  • Rhyl Pavilion Car Park – 244 spaces, 10 disabled, plus overflow car park. LL18 3AQ. Closes at midnight.

  • West Kinmel Street Car Park – 190 spaces, 5 disabled. LL18 1DA. Open 24 hours.

  • Rhyl Harbour Car Park – 53 spaces, 4 disabled. LL18 5AX. Open 24 hours.

Private Car Parks
  • White Rose Shopping Centre – 300 spaces (disabled not stated). LL18 3AA. Closes 5:30pm.

  • Marina Quay Shopping Park – 660 spaces. Some areas time-limited by ANPR (outside Aldi); no restrictions elsewhere. LL18 1LQ. Closes 8pm.

There is also plenty of on-street parking.


TOILETS

Toilets are available at:

  • Events Arena, East Parade, Rhyl LL18 3AF – 11am-3pm. 30p entry (free for children under 10 with a paying adult). Fitted with a Radar NKS lock.

  • Town Hall, Wellington Road, Rhyl LL18 1AB – 40p entry fee. Fitted with a Radar NKS lock.


WELLBEING ON THE DAY

If you need help or have any concerns during the event, please speak to one of our trained stewards or any of the police officers in attendance. Our stewards will be wearing red high-vis vests with the YesCymru logo and will be stationed along the march route and around the Rhyl Events Arena 

First aid will be provided by 1stAiders, who will follow behind the march and be available before and during the march, and during the speeches. Please ask a steward if you need assistance or medical support.

Lost property and urgent issues can be reported at the YesCymru stand in Rhyl Events Arena.
