Financial Update: A Look Back and a Bright Future

We are pleased to share a financial update with you, reflecting on the challenges of 2023 and the significant progress we’ve made in 2024.

2023: A Challenging Year

The recently finalised Financial Accounts for the year ending 31 December 2023 reveal the difficulties we faced in 2023. Higher costs led to a significant loss of £105,604, with our cash reserves falling by 70% between March 2023 and the end of 2023.

These challenges underscore why decisive action was needed to secure the organisation’s future.

The 2023 accounts will be discussed in detail at our AGM in early 2025.

2024: A Brighter Future

We are delighted to report that 2024 has been a turning point for YesCymru.

Through careful financial management and strategic planning, we will make a profit this year, allowing us to rebuild our cash reserves. This ensures we are better prepared for future challenges and equipped to take advantage of new opportunities.

Our stronger financial position has enabled us to do more than ever before. 2024 Highlights include:

  • A debut presence at Tafwyl, where we connected with thousands of supporters.
  • Successful NabodCymru events in Merthyr and Bro Ffestiniog.
  • Continued support for local groups hosting events across Wales.

We’re also investing in the future. A new Communications Officer has joined our team, focusing on improving how we connect with supporters and engage the wider electorate. Exciting campaigns are already in development, so stay tuned!

2025: Looking Ahead

Looking ahead to 2025, we’re excited to announce our return to supporting two independence marches, more community-driven activities, as well as several new national events.

Thank you for your continued support as we work together toward a stronger YesCymru and a brighter future for all who call Wales home.
