My name is Sam Murphy and I am from Swansea. I speak Welsh and English, having grown up speaking only English but finally succeeding in my 30s to learn Welsh to a close to fluent level.
I have experience as an an activist and an organiser for a range of political groups as well as having served as a trade union organiser.
Since joining Yes Cymru I have served on the committee of my local branch, Yes Abertawe, and was heavily involved in the organisation and promotion of the march in Abertawe in May 2023.
I am passionate about grass-roots political campaigning and believe this is an area in which Yes Cymru excels. I hope to help continue Yes Cymru's excellent record of grass-roots political campaigning through which we can drive Cymru onward to independence."
